I began serving at Calvary in the role of Interim Lead Pastor in March 2023. My interim ministry varies in length based upon the need of the church and usually culminates with the hire of a new member of the pastoral staff. I have served many churches - ranging in size from 30 to 700 – as Interim Pastor over the past 20 years.

My ministry background extends from my college days and spans all age groups, from children to

seniors. I pastored a church in a small community for 17 years before becoming involved in my present work. In conjunction with interim ministry, I resource and equip churches, missionaries, and church leadership. Over those years my ministry has included church intervention, church evaluation and development, consultant to churches and leadership, and leading a mission agency.

My wife Lorelei and I recently celebrated our 37 th anniversary. We have three adult children – Seth, Sean (Karla), and Jenna. We have two grandsons, ages 1 and 4.

“I came to Calvary in 2002 as the Preaching Pastor. I grew up on an Iowa farm, graduated from Northwestern College with a BA in Political Science in 1988, and Trinity Seminary, Chicago (TEDS) with an MDiv. in 1993. Past experience includes 7 years in the Army National Guard, 2 years Youth Director at Park Ave. Methodist Church, Mpls, and 9 years as a church planting pastor in Ada, MN. Kara and I met in college, married in 1987, and have been blessed with 4 great kids; Kelsey, Josh, Emily, and Zach. Kara teaches 3rd grade at WHA. Hobbies include everything outdoors.”

"I joined the Calvary staff in May of 2023 as the Church Administrator. I grew up in a pastoral family and felt called into full time ministry when I was a teenager. I’ve volunteered for children’s ministry, youth ministry, and worship; but, my passion for church structure and organization led me to this position at Calvary. I am excited to help the church grow and flourish to make a greater impact for God's kingdom!

My wife, Courtney, and I graduated from WHA in 2004 and married in 2006. After one tour in Iraq as part of the MN Army National Guard, then bouncing between a few jobs in the Twin Cities and Iowa, we came back to Walker in 2010. I spent 13 years working for Reeds Family Outdoor Outfitters and helped grow their business with non-profit organizations to become their Director of Conservation. We have three children; Elijah, Zoe, and Leo. We love to play board games, hunt, fish, or spend time hiking and camping."

“I have been attending Calvary since I was in 7th Grade! I am on the worship team and I am a youth leader for UNITED here at Calvary! I graduated from BSU in December 2019 with a degree in Business Administration! I got married 2 short weeks after graduation and I am enjoying life with my husband Michael and our son Callen. I love to sing and hang out with my family and friends.

"I grew up in the Walker area and attended Calvary for some time when I was a child. My husband Chris and I started dating soon after we graduated high school and got married in 2006 (at Calvary!); he was deployed to Iraq three months later. The deployment, two big moves, and two children later we ended up back in Walker and started attending Calvary in 2013. For the last two years I’ve been having a blast volunteering as a leader for our youth group, United! I am a homeschooling mom of three amazing kids: Elijah, Zoe, and Leo. I love getting outdoors camping and hiking during the warm months, but winter has me inside reading, puzzling, and playing games with the family!"
